Rainwater Harvesting
The collection of rainwater is one of the easiest ways to save both the environment and money. The Earth only has about 3-5% freshwater and every drop is precious. We take what water we do have for granted, never thinking about how much energy it took to make it drinkable. Freshwater is one of the worlds greatest problems in developing countries and systems like these could help. If we started thinking smarter about what we do with our runoff we could change how our current agricultural infrastructure works. The way current farming methods are used encourages waste of this precious and much needed resource. The next wars will not be fought over oil or coal, they will be waged for clean water and energy.
